Shoyim Bo‘tayev is one of our talented publishers, born on June 20, 1959, in the village of Maydoncha, in the Istaravshan (O‘ratepa) district of Tajikistan. He finished secondary school in 1976, and in 1982, he graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology at Khujand State Pedagogical Institute.
His professional career began at the «Guliston» magazine, and later he worked as a department head at the current «Tong Yulduzi» newspaper and as an editor at the «Cho‘lpon» publishing house.
The writer carried out effective work in positions such as Editor-in-Chief of the «Literature and Radio Theater» Main Editorial Office of Uzbekistan Radio and Editor-in-Chief of the «O‘zbektelefilm» studio, making a worthy contribution to the development of Uzbek national culture, literature, and art.
During these years, he wrote literary screenplays for many feature and documentary films and radio plays. Currently, Shoyim Bo‘tayev is working as the deputy editor-in-chief at the Cho‘lpon Publishing and Printing Creative House.
Shoyim entered the sacred realm of our literature in the mid-80s. Initially, he wrote stories depicting student life. His first novella, «Mysterious Stars,» was published in the «Sharq Yulduzi» magazine in 1984. In the same year, his collection of novellas titled «The World Has a Reckoning» was also published.
In 1988, the author's collection of short stories titled «Now Everything Is Different» was published by the «Cho‘lpon» publishing house. In 1995, Shoyim Bo‘tayev's collection of novellas and short stories titled «Wind Game» was published by the «Yozuvchi» publishing house.
By 1996, the «Sharq» Publishing and Printing Joint-Stock Association published the author's novel «Fortified Moon».
In later years, the author's books such as «Garden in the West,» «Life,» and «The Voice Left in the Street» were published. Currently, the writer is doing final polishing work on his novel titled «The King» with the intention of publishing it.
